What will I learn from this book?

Simply put: everything you need to know to travel — for trips big or small. The book covers all the practical elements, but we'll also unpack the many personal challenges and uncertainties that all travelers face. It will lay to rest all the little worries you may have before a trip — and by the time you turn the final page you'll know that you've really got this.

Okay, but what will I REALLY learn?

More concretely, you’ll learn how to create a realistic travel plan, save money for your trip (and budget the right way), how to pack lighter and smarter, always stay safe, healthy, and happy on the road, meet people anywhere, keep your spirits up when plans inevitably go awry, and make the most of your time on your next adventure.

Is the book only about long trips?

It's for anyone wanting to jump into traveling! An "epic" trip can mean long-term backpacking, round-the-world travel, nomading or a career break — and these types of trips are covered in detail. But it can also mean exploring parts unknown for a couple of weeks at a time. As long as you bring an adventurous spirit!

Is this book different from your blog?

Yes! Writing the book has been a completely separate project. Not only that, but the density of information and insights in the book you won't get from just reading things online. The long-form medium lets me dive much deeper, cover every angle, and share much more personal stories.

Why should I take your advice?

I've traveled all over the world and lived to tell the tale! Throughout my 10+ year travel career I've wandered all over Southeast Asia, backpacked the Gringo Trail from Mexico all the way to Argentina in a year, explored every corner of Europe, traveled round-the-world (hopping between continents), and much more. I'll tell you about the crazy highs and lows I've been through and share with you my most hard-won advice.

I already have some travel experience... is this still for me?

There are some complete beginner tips that you can probably skip, but the book will still be a good warm up and refresher on all the practical steps before travelling. Some of my stories may also mirror your experiences... and remind you just how fun it is to travel!
